Q: How much is it to attend the Reunion?


A: The registration fee is $30.00 per person, please get your form and fees in by March 1, 2025.

B. The cost of your cabin on the Panorama will depend on which type of cabin you choose. The inside or windowless cabins are the least expensive starting off at around $459.00 per person (based on double occupancy), plus taxes and port fees, and gratuities, they also offer ocean view rooms, balcony rooms and suites.



Q: How do I register to attend?


A: Registration forms are available on this site to download. Print the form, fill it out and you can send it by mail or email. You can send a check or pay via PayPal. The information is all on the form.



Q: Can I pay at the door?
A: No, please pay your registration by March 1, 2025, and Carnival allows people to make a deposit on the room as long as it is paid off by March 3, 2025.



Q: Does the Registration include Hotel accommodations?


A: No, but your reservation with Carnival covers your stateroom on the ship, and meals in the Main Dining Room, Buffet, and several of the other dining options onboard. There are some for pay options onboard. We have posted some nearby hotel options for those arriving to Long Beach before the cruise or staying after.



Q: Is there a dress code for the Banquet?


A: Please wear whatever you are most comfortable in, there are some people who dress up in the main dining on the Formal nights, but they mainly ask that you don't wear bathing suits, cut off tee shirts and flip flops in the main dining room



Q: Are all of our meals and beverages covered in the reservation fee?


A: Meals in the main dining room, buffet and some of the restaurants are free, but there are a few for pay restaurants onboard as well. Coffee, Water, and Tea are free all day and juice in the mornings, but alcoholic beverages and specialty coffees are available at an additional fee.



Q: Is there parking at the Port?


A: Depending upon how many cruise ships are in port, some people may be advised to park at the off site location. Carnival will notify us in advance of the cruise, and they do offer a shuttle to and from the off site parking.



Q: Is there a shuttle to the Port in Long Beach from area airports and hotels?


A: Some hotels offer a shuttle, check with the hotel where you are staying. Carnival offers a shuttle to and from the local airports for a fee, see the Carnival website.



Q: Can I have more than two people to a cabin?

A: Some of the cabins are able to sleep four people, but keep in mind some of those are bunks.



Q: Who is this reunion open to?


A: The reunions are open to all officers and crew of the USS Samuel Gompers and their guests. From commissioning to decommissioning crew. Each person who attends must be registered and paid for in order to attend.

A: Check out our Facebook page to see who plans to attend. Once we have all the registrations in, we will find out who is ok having their names published.




Q: How often are the reunions held?


A: As much as possible we plan on every other year.



Q: Where will the next reunion be held?


A: This reunion is going to be on a cruise ship, we will get the information out to everyone as soon as possible. We are making every effort to move it from west, east and mid country, and to visit places that people will enjoy visiting. Please join the Association and attend the Business Meeting we would love to hear where you think it should be next!
