UPDATED 08/01/09
Today I added the two optional tours and the reunion registration form. I will be conducting a mass snail mail this week to get the info out to our crewmembers who don't have email.
The question has come up on whether or not we want to post a list of people who are coming to the reunion. So, as I receive registration forms in, I will ask each person for their preference, and I will post a Registered to Attend List of those who want to be posted.
That's all for now!

I know, I know....we promised a newsletter! Well, Ann has been really busy with a serious family emergency, but in the meantime I just wanted to let you know what is up with the Reunion 2010 planning:
The Circus Circus Hotel Registration form can be downloaded from this site by clicking on the link on the Hotel Reservations tab, you will need to print it out, fill it in, and either fax, mail or scan and email it to Circus Circus, they will not take online or telephone reservations.
The cost of our rooms includes the cost of the meeting space we will be using for the Hospitality Room, the Banquet Dinner w-two drink tickets on Saturday evening, and a catered Continental Breakfast in our meeting space on Saturday and Sunday mornings. We are getting a really great deal under their Military Reunion Package, so be sure to reserve your room!
There will be one more Reunion Registration Form for you to fill out, and it will include the cost to attend the reunion which will be $25.00 per person, we need to charge this to cover the administrative (mailing, printing, name tags) and logistical (snacks and drinks, welcome package, audio visual) costs to put on the reunion. I will be adding that as a downloadable form on the site, and sending it out via snail mail to those I have an address for. Coming soon under the Registration Tab!
Next week I am going back up to Reno to check out the tours and activities which are available. The tours will be optional, but I am hoping we will have enough people interested to have one on Saturday and another on Sunday. For those of you who don't want to go on a tour, there is a lot more to Reno than just gambling! Sassy Ellis has come up with a wide variety of activites for us to choose from.
Yesterday I spoke to our Crewmembers Association President, Kevin McGarry about the reunion, and he agreed that we should present a set of Association Bylaws to the membership for a vote. Kevin will lead the meeting, which will be open to all USS Samuel Gompers Crewmembers, and there will be an election during this meeting.
